Privacy Policy
In plain language, here is how Tech Abroad handles your information. Elementum UX LLC is responsible for it (the “data controller”). Last updated: 6 October 2026.
Your resume
We use your resume only to match you with jobs and to help you tailor applications. When you upload it, we read the text, remove your email address and phone number, and keep it in your browser, not on our servers. We never sell, rent or share your resume, contact details or profile with recruitment agencies, data brokers or marketers.
When you ask for a cover letter or a rewrite, the relevant resume text and job description are sent to Anthropic (the company behind Claude) to write it. Anthropic doesn’t use that data to train its models.
Your account
With an account, we store your name, email, onboarding answers (citizenship, where you live, target roles, experience), settings, saved searches, tracker applications and interview answers, so the service works across your devices. They’re protected so only you can read them.
Forwarded emails
We read forwarded emails only to detect an application’s status, such as an interview or an offer. The email itself is never stored: we keep only the sender’s domain, the status we detected and when it arrived.
Payments
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record, in its own secure checkout. Your card details and billing address go straight to Paddle and never reach us; Paddle processes them under its own privacy policy (opens in new tab). We keep your plan, its renewal date and Paddle’s customer and subscription references.
Emails we send
Account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password) and a renewal reminder 7 days before a paid plan renews. No marketing emails without your permission.
Services that process data for us
- Supabase: account, database and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Anthropic: writes cover letters and rewrites (only the text needed for that request).
- Paddle: payments, invoices, sales tax and VAT (as our reseller and Merchant of Record).
- Cloudflare: email routing for forwarded emails, and our domain.
- Resend: sends sign-in, password reset and renewal reminder emails, and saved-search alerts.
- PostHog and LogRocket: anonymous analytics and masked screen recordings, only if you allow them.
- Unsplash: city photos in Location Insights load from Unsplash’s servers, which see your IP address.
Job listings come from companies’ own job boards, Adzuna, Arbeitnow, The Muse, Jooble, Hacker News “Who is hiring?” and OpenWeb Ninja (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and Google for Jobs), and employer ratings from Glassdoor and Trustpilot via OpenWeb Ninja. We don’t send your personal data to these sources. Elementum UX LLC and several of these services are based in the United States, so your data is processed there. We use providers that offer data protection agreements for international transfers.
Analytics (only if you allow it)
If you click Allow, we use PostHog to count anonymous usage (pages visited, buttons used) and LogRocket to record anonymized screen sessions, so we can see where the dashboard is hard to use. Both are configured so recordings show no text and no form fields, never include what you send to or receive from our servers (your CV, letters and job descriptions), and aren’t linked to your name or email. Nothing loads until you allow it, and you can change your choice here at any time.
Analytics aren’t switched on at the moment, so nothing is collected.
Cookies and storage
We use only what the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie, and your browser’s storage for your resume, documents and settings. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account; deleting it removes everything stored with it. Payment records are kept for 7 years, as US tax rules may require.
Your rights
You can see, change or delete your data at any time. Settings → Account → “Delete my account” deletes your account and everything stored with it. To get a copy of your data, object to how we use it, or ask anything else, email us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Some course links are affiliate links, and we always label them. Tech Abroad isn’t meant for anyone under 16.
