Work visas for tech jobs in Latvia

EU Blue Card
Minimum salary
€2,723 per month (Gross a month: 1.5 × last year’s average (from 1 April 2026))
Lower minimum: €2,178 per month for jobs on the government’s shortage list.
What you need
- A contract or binding offer of at least 6 months
- A degree of at least 3 years, related to the job
Without a degree
- IT managers and senior specialists: 3 years of experience in the last 7
- Managers and professionals: 5 years of experience

Settling in Latvia
- Latvia is in the European Union, so the EU Blue Card is one of the work-permit routes.
- Permanent residency: usually after about 5 years of living there.
- Citizenship: usually possible after about 10 years.
