EU Blue Card
Minimum salary
€5,942 per month (Gross per month, excluding the 8% holiday allowance)
Lower minimum: €4,754 per month for graduates who apply within 3 years of graduating.
What you need
- An employment contract at or above the salary threshold
- A diploma from a higher education course that lasted at least 3 years
Without a degree
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience at a level comparable to a higher education diploma
- IT managers and IT professionals: at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the 7 years before applying

Highly skilled migrant
Minimum salary
€5,942 per month (Age 30 or older; gross per month, excluding the 8% holiday allowance)
Lower minimum: €4,357 per month for people under 30 (€3,122 for recent graduates).
What you need
- An employer that is an IND recognised sponsor
- A salary at or above the threshold for your age
Without a degree
- No degree is required for this route

- Permanent residency: usually after about 5 years of living there.
- Citizenship: usually possible after about 5 years.
